Grade 1 · Day 2 · Alpha-Phonics Lesson 1 · p.3 · 25.0 min · continued · teacher edition of the student sheet
voice off/t/t · alveolar stop
/t/ · t

Our new sound: /t/   written t

Put the tip of your tongue on the bumpy ridge just behind your top teeth. Hold the air. Now let it go — /t/. Voice off.

Check yourself: Hand in front of your mouth — a small puff. Hand on your throat — still.

Watch for: /d/, and for Urdu speakers a tongue placed on the teeth instead of the ridge.
