Grade 2 · Day 5

L4 · Consonants d, D, w

Today

Second day on the same lesson — p.5, word building, one sound swapped at a time. Do not re-teach it. Re-run the column and go at whatever the children were not accurate on yesterday.

The one thing

voice ON
/w/ · w

Push your lips out into a tight little circle, like blowing out a candle, then open them into the next sound — w.

They check it: Mirror: lips round and forward. If your teeth touch your lip you are saying /v/ instead.

Not in Urdu. For those children this is a new physical skill, not a reminder. Do not let the column start until the mouth can make it.

Watch for

/v/ — especially for Urdu speakers, where /v/ and /w/ are one sound.
