Hump and line letters: n m r h b p, v w x y z k
Hump letters retrace up the stroke they just came down; line letters meet at a sharp point.
What it is
These letters begin with a straight line down, and then the pencil goes back UP the same line before making the hump. That retrace is the part everybody skips, and skipping it is what makes n look like a v with a lid. The last group are the angle letters: sharp corners, no curves.
Watch it built
1Line straight down. Now trace back up the SAME line, halfway.

2From there, over and down. That is n. Two humps is m.
n m
3The angle letters have no curve at all — every corner is sharp.
v w x y z k
Remember
Down, back up the same line, then over. Never a new line for the hump.
Ask yourself: “Did my pencil go back up the SAME line?”
Remember
Down, back up the same line, then over.
