Key nouns — use the words
Some nouns name things you can touch. Others name ideas — and those are the ones writers need.
The words
Watch how it is built
1sound means about the same as what we hear.
The sound of thunder is loud.
2light means about the same as what we see by.
Plants need light to grow.
3space means about the same as an empty spot.
Leave a space between words.
Two ways to say it
✗ The what we hear of thunder is loud. — this is not wrong, but it is everyday talk.
✓ The sound of thunder is loud. — this is how a writer says it.
Ask yourself: “Can I point at it?”
