State your answer in a full sentence.

Two ways to say it

✗ Consider what happens when water freezes. — this is not wrong, but it is everyday talk.

✓ Consider what happens when water freezes. — this is how a writer says it.

Ask yourself: “Which of these is closer to what I mean?”

Remember

The plain word is often the better one.
